The document was first published in the journal Patriot in 1813 and then reprinted in the Journal of IHGB 1900, tome LXII. He served as a source for several works that deal with the Brazilian colonial period, from different perspectives and approaches. However, it has still many points to be analyzed and discussed, contributing to studies of colonial Brazil, and especially to the historical constitution of the provinces in northeastern Brazil. The analysis of the historiographical debate about the document aims to open new possibilities for study on the Roadmap, as it constitutes a rich source of information about the Portuguese administrative policy, and contribute to studies of the Institute of History and Geography Brazil, in order that the document is part of a selection of documents which served the purpose of building an independent national history in Brazil.

It is an analysis between the years 1845 to 1864, divided between Denizard Rivail’s social-ideological trajectory as a teacher, his transformation into Allan Kardec and the concept of happiness built in Imitation de L'Évangile Selon le Spiritisme. In a context of profound social change, it is believed that the French professor produced a synthesis that pointed to a happiness project able to reconcile liberal and socialist political tendencies, in an attempt to preserve the existing bourgeois order, while responding to the social demands that were brought to the surface by the Revolution of 1848.
