This paper focus more on epistemological and matephysical matters, than on morals or religion. Hume uses some of Pascal's ideas concerning scepticism and arguments concerning the cogito and the Cartesian view of science.

Specifically, My Purpose Is To Compare The Explanations Given By Hume To The Identity Of External Objects And To Personal Identity Throughout The Text Of The Treatise In Order To Estimate Assess Whether The Former Is Useful To Hume's Reader To Understand The Latter. Such A Comparison Finds Its Justification In The Words Of Hume Himself, Who In The Treatise Clearly States That The Explanation For The Intellectual World Is Free From The Obscurities Present In The Explanation Given To The Natural World, But, In Writing The "Appendix", It Reconsiders Its Evaluation Initial. Although The Analyzes Present The Same Explanatory Scheme, Operation Of The Imagination Together With The Qualities Of Coherence And Constancy Manifested By The Perceptions, I Propose That The Explanation Provided By Hume For The Objects Of The External World Does Not Enable The Reader To Understand The Specificity Of The Discussion Of Person
