    A visão tropical sobre a bola vermelha: Futebol, comunismo e imprensa brasileira (1982 e 1986)

    This research aims to analyze how the process of emigration of players of the socialist bloc to Western Europe in the last years of the Cold War, the identities involving characters of European communism, and representation on the "World of Red Ball" were seen by the Brazilian press, having the World Cup in 1982 and 1986 as a backdrop,so to understand possible relationships between football, politics and society, and especially whether and how the ideological climate of those days transpired within its pages. So, we hope to contribute to the understanding of a crucial moment both for football and for the contemporary history. The research will be founded primarily on two newspapers call "mainstream media", Jornal do Brasil and Folha de São Paulo, but also in sports magazine Placar. Besides them, the files made available online by FIFA on statistics and the above tournaments will complement the search for information.
