Tendo em vista a variedade de causas e mecanismos envolvidos, nao existe uma tecnica terapeutica que seja eficaz para todos os pacientes. O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar a eficacia da orientacao atraves de um manual de exercicios terapeuticos para pacientes com lombalgia inespecifica. Metodo: Foram incluidos 44 pacientes com lombalgia inespecifica cronica, e intensidade de dor maior que 3 pela escala analogica visual. Os pacientes do grupo 1 foram acompanhados pela fisioterapeuta durante a realizacao dos exercicios terapeuticos, uma vez por semana, fazendo uso do manual de orientacao de exercicios. Os pacientes do grupo 2 receberam o manual de orientacoes para realizarem os exercicios sem o acompanhamento da fisioterapeuta, uma vez ao dia. Todos deveriam realizar os exercicios uma vez ao dia em casa. Foi feita avaliacao da intensidade da dor, uso de analgesico complementar e da qualidade de vida (SF-36) antes e apos 6 e 12 sem. Resultados: A intensidade da dor no G1 foi menor que no G2 apos 6 e 12 sem de tratamento. No G1, os pacientes usaram analgesico complementar com menor frequencia que no G2. A qualidade de vida foi melhor no G1 que no G2. Conclusoes: O manual de exercicios com o acompanhamento da fisioterapeuta, usado durante 12 semanas, foi mais eficaz que o uso de manual sem acompanhamento quanto a intensidade da dor, ao uso de analgesico complementar e a qualidade de vida

Studies on the health status of people in prison are recent and describe the presence of infectious diseases, including infectious skin diseases in prisons in Canada, Switzerland, and Nigeria. Considering that some skin diseases can be prevented, the development of educational and preventive strategies, such as the use of educational manuals, is necessary. Objectives: To develop and to validate a manual of skin care for persons deprived of liberty in the São Paulo State Prison System. Methods: The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committees of UNIFESP (certificate no. CAAE 74601417.2.0000.5505) and of the State Department of Prison Administration (certificate no. CAAE 74601417.2.3001.5563). This descriptive study on the development and validation of a manual was carried out in the following steps: novelty search, literature search, data collection from medical records, content production, validation by an expert panel using the Delphi technique, evaluation by the target-users, and distribution. Results: The validation by the expert panel reached an overall content validity index (CVI) of 1.0 in two rounds of the Delphi technique and the evaluation by persons deprived of liberty showed an agreement of 98.57%. The manual has 31 pages, eight topics, 12 subtopics, and 29 illustrations. It was introduced to the people in prison through an expository presentation at the “Nestor Canoa” Prison in Mirandópolis (Brazil). Conclusion: A manual of skin care was developed and validated for persons deprived of liberty in the São Paulo State Prison System.

It has several contributing factors and little information is available on decision-making in routine practice for the management of preventive and therapeutic interventions. Objective: To develop a manual for the prevention and treatment of skin tears. Methods: A literature review on skin tears was conducted for the development of the manual. It was organized into seven chapters on skin tears with topics of interest to the professional. The manual was validated by health professionals specialized in skin tears. The Delphi technique was used as the validation method. Results: Seven experts with master's or doctoral degree validated the manual at two evaluation stages. The content validity index (CVI) was 6.7 for "Objectives", 10.55 for "Structure and Presentation", and 3.7 for "Relevance". The overall CVI was 0.95, confirming the validity of the manual. The manual has seven chapters, 27 pages, and 24 illustrations. Conclusion: A manual for the prevention and treatment of skin tears was developed and validated for use by health professionals.

In the majority of accredited training services in Plastic Surgery by the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP) there are no specific outpatient clinics for attendance and training in Cosmiatry. Objective: To develop a Manual for the implantation of an Ambulatory of Cosmiatry for Accredited Training Services in Plastic Surgery in Brazil. Method: A review of the literature was made on the bases Scielo, Pubmed, Lilacs, selected articles on Cosmiatry. Researched as norms of the National Agency of Sanitary Surveillance (ANVISA) and of the Brazilian Association of Technical Norms (ABNT) for the implantation of medical outpatient clinics. A manual has been created with this data. A questionnaire was applied for method validation using a statistical method - Delphi methodology, together with a group of specialists. Results: Creation of a manual with the selection of contents validated by 7 judges, plastic surgeons with expertise in Cosmiatry, for the implementation of an outpatient clinic for teaching and training in this area. The manual was published in printed and electronic form. Conclusion: A manual was developed for implantation of a Cosmiatry outpatient clinic for Accredited Training Services in Plastic Surgery in Brazil.

Several studies deal with the importance of compression therapies, but few of them describe Unna’s Boot application technique and the importance of the different materials used in this therapy, thus contributing to the underutilization of the technique. The use of manuals is one of the strategies that provide guidance for professionals. Objective: To develop a manual for Unna’s Boot application technique in patients with venous ulcers for health professionals. Methods: This descriptive study on the development of a manual was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of UNIFESP (CAAE: 92331318.5.0000.5505). Relevant content was obtained by searching the Cochrane Library Database, Scielo, LILACS, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Articles in Portuguese, Spanish and English from 2000 to 2018 were selected for the study. The text, illustrations and photographs, layout, and the recording and editing of a video were then prepared. The developed manual was validated by experts using the Delphi technique and the Content Validity Index (CVI). Results: The manual was validated by the experts in two rounds of the Delphi technique with an overall CVI of 0.98 and was considered adequate regarding content, appearance, and relevance, providing information for health professionals on Unna’ Boot application technique in patients with venous ulcers. The manual has 29 pages including text and illustrations. In addition, a video demonstrating the technique was created. Conclusion: A manual for Unna’ Boot application technique in patients with venous ulcers for health professionals was developed.

The use of informative manuals is one of the strategies which can be utilized for the orientation and direction of the conduct of the nurses. Objective: Developing a manual about the care with the open post-pleurostomy wound for health professionals. Methods: Manual developing study. It wasapproved by CEP of the UNIFESP CAAE: 67970117.7.0000.5505. It has not been held the search of anteriority, and it has not been found a manual alike. For the content’s development, it has been consulted the bibliographic databases and Cochrane, Scielo, LILACS and PubMed, Google Scholar search websites. It has been selected articles in Portuguese, Spanish and English in the period of 2010 and 2017. The descriptors used in the search were: toracotomy, toracostomy, thoracic cavity, pleura, pleural cavity, wounds and lesions. In the sequence, it has been elaborated the text, the illustrations and the text formatting. After developing the manual, it was evaluated by experts. For the validation of the manual was used the CVI (Content Validation Index). Results: The manual that was developed has thirty-six pages, seven chapters with the following themes: Introduction, Care with the open post-pleurostomy, Wound/Debridement Cleaning, Wound Dressings, Care Records, Final Considerations, Bibliography. Conclusion: It has been developed a care with an open post-pleurostomy wound manual and confirmed its validation for the usage of health professionals.

Because of the complexity of the service, the development of a protocol that provides guidance and optimizes resources can ensure the quality and safety of materials for health services. Objective: To develop and validate a protocol for processing health products at the Material and Sterilization Center of the São Paulo Hospital/HU-UNIFESP. Method: This descriptive study on the development of a protocol was performed in steps, beginning with a literature review, content production, and validation using the Delphi technique. The content validity index (CVI) was used to measure expert agreement based on questionnaire responses. Results: A protocol was developed based on the literature and institutional characteristics. After the second round of consultation using the Delphi Technique, the overall CVI was 1.0, corresponding to 100% consensus among experts, and therefore above the minimum CVI of 0.90 required for validation. The final version of the validated protocol has 45 pages, 8 sections, 32 sub-subsections, and 20 illustrations. Conclusion: The Protocol for Processing Health Products at the Material and Sterilization Center of the São Paulo Hospital/HU-UNIFESP was developed and validated.

Mastectomy remains the most widely used method for the treatment of breast cancer; In addition, a breast removal and other treatments necessary for a complete elimination of the cancerous cells, favor the appearance of physical and psychological complications, factors that can influence in a harmful way the quality of life and the self-esteem of these women. Among the patients submitted to mastectomy between 2008 and 2015, only 20% had a breast reconstruction. There is no website, book, article or informational vehicle in Brazil disclosed to the Brazilian women, which suppresses the need for information on breast reconstruction. Therefore it becomes necessary to develop an informational material on the possibilities of treatment, the stages of reconstruction, how the patient should proceed to get her breast reconstruction surgery and the ways to do so according to the reality, condition and will of each from them. Aim: To develop an informative manual about a breast reconstruction. Methods: A review of the literature was made in the databases Scielo, Pubmed, Lilacs and an online search in search pages of articles, reports, campaign news related to the topic. A questionnaire was applied to validate content by statistical method - Delphi methodology to create a manual (e-book). Results: Creation of a digitized manual with the selection of information validated by 7 judges with expertise in breast reconstruction. A website was created to access and disseminate the product. Conclusion: An informative manual on breast reconstruction was developed for patients.
