Objective: To evaluate the possible association between swimming speed in the intensity of AT determined by blood glucose and lactate threshold in competitive swimmers. Methods: This study was composed of eight adults swimmers were selected, experienced ones in competitions (age: 25±7,5 years, height: 1,74±0,1 m and body mass: 66,9±7,3 kg). The following tests were performed: Incremental testing, Maximum lactate steady-state, glucose and lactate minimum test. Results: The MLSSV was 1,30 m.s-1, the [lLa] was 4,3±0,03 mM/L and [Gluc] 102,4±5,66 mg/dL. The incremental test, the swin mean velocity of LT was 1,44 m.s-1 and the [La] 5,1±1,8 mM/L, on the other hand, the swim velocity at the GT moment was 1,40 m.s-1 and [Gluc] 90,8±14,19 mg/dL. In the glucose and lactate minimum test, the mean velocity of LT was 1,39 m.s-1 and [La] 4,8±2,70 mM/L, while the mean velocity of GT was 1,38 m.s-1 and [Gluc] was 90,3±13,3 mg/dL. Conclusion: After identification of the MLSSV, it was detected that: a) although the velocities did not coincide at the threshold moments, there was no significant difference between both when determined by the incremental test; b) the swimming velocity on AT intensity when identified by the glucose and lactate minimum test there was also no significant difference.
