Establishes the relationship of the diffusion of the image of Xavier served a search for (re) legitimation of the Society of Jesus on these parts, at the time that the missionary in the Far East was in decline due to lack of support from Portugal, which was struggling out there. Therefore proposes that in the late seventeenth century, not only the Crown of Portugal, as the Society of Jesus looked to the American land.
