- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Densidade energetica da dieta de trabalhadores de São Paulo e fatores sociodemograficos associados*(Associação Brasileira de Saúde Coletiva, 2013-06-01) Canella, Daniela Silva; Bandoni, Daniel Henrique [UNIFESP]; Jaime, Patricia Constante; Universidade de São Paulo (USP); Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Objective: This paper aims at analyzing the energy density (ED) of the diet of workers from the city of São Paulo, Southeastern Brazil, and the way this is associated with socio-demographic characteristics, as well as evaluating the relationship between ED and nutrient intake. Methods: A cross-sectional study evaluated the diet of 852 workers using the 24-hour dietary recall; one recall was applied to all individuals and a second one was applied to a sub-sample in order to adjust intrapersonal variability. The ED of the diet was calculated using three methods: inclusion of all solid foods and beverages, excluding water (ED 1); inclusion of all solid foods and beverages containing at least 5 kcal/100g (ED 2); and inclusion of all solid foods, excluding all beverages (ED 3). Linear regression was used to analyze the relationship between ED and socio-demographic variables and the relationship between ED and nutrients was evaluated using Pearson coefficient correlation. Results: Considering the workers' diet, the ED values observed were 1.18 kcal/g, 1.22 kcal/g and 1.73 kcal/g for the ED 1, ED 2, ED 3 methods, respectively. In the multiple regression models, only the age variable was maintained in the final model and showed an inverse association with all ED methods. ED 3 showed an increase in energy density for non-white individuals. Of all studied nutrients, protein was the only one that was not significantly correlated with ED 3 (p = 0.899). Conclusion: The young adults studied had a higher energy-density diet, representing a priority group for nutrition interventions. Regardless of the calculation method used, there is a correlation between ED and nutrients.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Eating out or in from home: analyzing the quality of meal according eating locations(Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas, 2013-12-01) Bandoni, Daniel Henrique [UNIFESP]; Canella, Daniela Silva; Levy, Renata Bertazzy; Jaime, Patricia Constante; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP); Universidade de São Paulo (USP)OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of meals consumed by workers from São Paulo according to eating location. METHODS: This cross-sectional study used the 24-hour recall to collect dietary data from 815 workers, including where the meal was consumed, and then grouped the meals by eating location: home, workplace cafeteria, and restaurant. Meal quality was assessed according to energy content and density, fiber density, and proportion of macronutrients, 10 food groups, and from sugar-sweetened beverages. These indicators and their respective eating locations were then included in linear regression models adjusted for gender, age, and education level. RESULTS: Meals consumed at workplace cafeterias had lower energy density, higher fiber density, and higher proportions of vegetables, fruits, and beans than those consumed at home. However, away-from-home meals contain more sugars, sweets, fats, and oils. CONCLUSION: Eating location influences diet quality, so dietary surveys should assess meals consumed away from home more thoroughly since meal quality varies greatly by food service.

In the course of research, we note that the library represented for the workers a new way of access to books and allowed some workers discover new slopes from reading. However, one should take into account the diverse interests and variables that compete with the proponents of each library, there is also the desires that the library meets other expectations, such as increased profitability of the entrepreneur, the addition of new employees with the union and in particular under the government's perspective, it is a strategy to improve the read rates in the Brazilian population
- ItemSomente MetadadadosIniquidades no acesso aos benefícios alimentação e refeição no Brasil: uma análise da Pesquisa de Orçamentos Familiares 2008-2009(Cadernos de Saúde Pública, 2016) Canella, Daniela Silva [UNIFESP]; Bortoletto Martins, Ana Paula; Bandoni, Daniel Henrique [UNIFESP]Food stamps and meal vouchers can determine workers' dietary choices. The study aimed to assess the coverage of these benefits in Brazil and their distribution according to the beneficiaries' socio-demographic and regional characteristics, using data from the Brazilian Household Budgets Survey, 2008-2009. Eligibility criteria were having an occupation and a private or government job, including domestic or temporary work in rural areas. Only 3.2% of eligible individuals reported receiving such benefits. Highest coverage rates were verified with the Southeast region, urban areas, male gender, employment in the private sector, and monthly earnings > five times the minimum wage. The mean monthly amount of such benefits was R$ 177.20 (US$ 100 at the 2009 exchange rate). After adjusting for other variables, the highest amounts were associated with male gender, higher salaries, the Northeast and Central regions, and employment in the public sector. This first analysis of the national coverage of food stamps and meal vouchers showed that a large share of Brazilian workers lack access or have unequal access to such benefits.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Medidas de prevenção contra câncer de pele em trabalhadores da construção civil: contribuição da enfermagem(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Escola de Enfermagem, 2011-03-01) Simões, Thiago Do Carmo; Souza, Norma Valéria Dantas De Oliveira; Shoji, Shino [UNIFESP]; Peregrino, Antônio Augusto De Freitas; Silva, Delson Da; UERJ Faculdade de Enfermagem; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP); Universidade Veiga de Almeida; Ministério da Saúde; Fundação Oswaldo CruzThe civil construction's workers are one of the most risk groups to the occupational cancer. The purpose was to identify these workers knowledge about skin cancer and describe protection/prevention measures adopted for them. Descriptive and qualitative nature research, developed with 50 workers of a great load building site firm at municipal district of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which the data was collected through a form. From descriptive and statistical analysis, the results showed that the protection measures adopted for the workers to skin cancer prevention are insufficient and the way that they are used are not lined with the literature. Important changes needed at daily of these workers are related to life styles and at access ease to informations and knowledges about skin cancer. Thus, nursing's interventions along the Worker's Health stuff can contribute to preventive's implementation of occupational cancer.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosNo Limite da Lei: uma análise do imaginário do Partido Socialista Brasileiro a cerca do trabalhador como um ser político no período 1947-1954(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2011) Camargo, Natália Nogueira de [UNIFESP]; Toledo, Edilene Teresinha [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8399485670405276; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8461670543869780; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)With the end of the Estado Novo dictatorship, Brazil entered a phase of redemocratization, in which Dutra, supported by Vargas, was eventually elected president. Although the Dutra government was authoritarian, it did not manage to completely impede workers' freedom to claim, and many of them criticized the corporatist-based labor legislation created by Getúlio Vargas. In this context, the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) emerged, which, through its party press, the Folha Socialista newspaper, not only sought to take its ideology to the working masses, but also called on the working class to fight for various changes in social legislation. This monograph takes an approach that covers the period 1947-1954, with the objective of analyzing the imaginary of the PSB about the worker as a political being. For that, the research used as sources, above all, the newspaper Folha Socialista and also medical records of militants prepared by the Delegacia de Ordem Política e Social (DEOPS). In addition, due to the fact that the PSB is ideologically opposed to the Communist Party of Brazil (PCB), it was considered pertinent, in order to carry out a comparison for a better understanding of the object of study in question, to also use as central sources the communist periodicals Hoje and Today's News. Thus, through this analysis, it was possible to perceive how the socialist association, criticizing the corporate union legislation, fought for the workers' movement to be in fact autonomous.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Qualidade de vida no trabalho e saúde/doença(ABRASCO - Associação Brasileira de Saúde Coletiva, 2000-01-01) Lacaz, Francisco Antonio de Castro [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Using as starting point the discussion of many concepts of the term Quality Working Life (QWL) is assumed the idea of priority to changes in working organization and worker's participation, like pointed out the International Program on Bettering Working Conditions and Labor Environment, proposed by International Labor Organization (ILO), in 1976. Are pointed the limits of QWL in a reality like the Brazilian, where democracy in working places is still so fragile. Besides, vis-à-vis Taylorism/ Fordism, are discussed the changes in the organization of working process that occur in the QWL within the process of job redesign, pointing the necessity to think about epidemiological indicators that show the relationships health/ illness and the new ways of management and organization of the productive process, represented by the working related diseases, whose nexus with working process has a more complex causality.

This research has a purpose to relate this leisure space with the experience of the workers of this period, which will be taken in this work as a class and political organization. This research seems important to me since that time football was more a leisure applicant between São Paulo elite, very few clubs encompassed people from the working class. For this study will be used interviews with older members, in this case the children of the founders of the club, based on a bibliography of oral history as well as articles, books that depict the working class in the period and on the theme football.
