It is essential to give a greater attention to the basic categories because it contains important stages of development of the athletes who are the future of the sport. Objective: To evaluate the functional and neuromuscular youth soccer athletes' category based on performance in jump tests. METHODS: Soccer players aged between 15 and 17 years were evaluated. The following jump tests were performed on two force platforms: squat Jump; countermovement test; drop jump of 40 cm. To analyze the variables concentric and eccentric forces, impact and height of jumps, the Shapiro-Wilk test, mean and standard deviation of variables with p < 0.05 were used. RESULTS: Of the 30 athletes evaluated, we found: three goalkeepers (10%), five quarterbacks (16.7%), one winger (3.3%), three defensive midfielders (10%), 12 midfielders (40%) and six strikers (20%). The under 17 category had higher results compared to the under 15;it was achieved maximum height of the countermovement jump over the squat jump (p < 0.05) and drop jump (p > 0.05); no difference was found in concentric force between the categories and types of jumps; greater impact force was obtained on countermovement jump and an increased strength in the right lower limb was found in all jump tests and variables. CONCLUSIONS: We found an asymmetry between the lower limbs, which may correlate with a muscle power deficit, poor eccentric movement and biomechanical errors. These predisposing factors for musculoskeletal injuries can be prevented. The instrumented evaluation of muscle force through these tests can assist club professionals as a working tool, able to enhance training programs, preparation and rehabilitation. However, more research is needed in order to evaluate different moments of the athlete's age and season.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosEfeito da infusão de células-tronco mesenquimais na regeneração do fígado após hepatectomia a 70%: modelo experimental em ratos(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2015-12-18) Alves, Ana Karina Soares [UNIFESP]; Linhares, Marcelo Moura Linhares [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Introduction: Major hepatic resections still have high levels of morbimortality, mainly due the post-operatory hepatic failure. In order to enable fast regeneration of the remnant liver techniques as previous embolization or portal vein ligature, two-stage hepatectomy and the ALPPS have been used, yet the insufficient hepatic mass continues to be a challenge. The cell therapy has been speculated as a promising therapeutic arsenal to accelerate or improve the hepatic regeneration after extended resections. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of the mesenchymal stem cells on the hepatic regeneration in rats submitted under 70% hepatectomy. Methods: in fourty Winstar rats submitted under 70% hepatectomy it was infused 106 of mesenchymal stem cells (trial group) or saline solution (control group) through portal vein. These groups were divided in early and late subgroups (euthanasia on the third and fifth post operative day, respectively). Outcomes of the hepatic regeneration tax, albumin variation, TGO, TGP and FA, cell proliferation index (ki-67) and the number of mitosis were compared. Results: Significant outcomes in the hepatic regeneration tax, number of mitosis and cell proliferation index were not observed. Likewise there was no difference of albumin levels variation, TGO and FA. It was found significant variation in the levels of TGP, higher in the trial group. Conclusions: It was not observed improvement of the hepatic regeneration tax on the third and fifth post hepatectomy day among rats that received cellular therapy. There was also no improvement of hepatic function, of cell proliferation index and of the number of mitosis in the groups that were submitted under the mesenchymal stem cells infusion.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Orthopaedics injuries in male professional football players in Brazil: a prospective comparison between two divisions(Cic Edizioni Int, 2017) Arliani, Gustavo Goncalves [UNIFESP]; Schmidt Lara, Paulo Henrique [UNIFESP]; Astur, Diego Costa [UNIFESP]; Pedrinelli, Andre [UNIFESP]; Pagura, Jorge Roberto [UNIFESP]; Cohen, Moises [UNIFESP]Background: Football is a high-speed contact sport and the risk of injury is high. The objective of this study was to compare the two main divisions (A1 and A2) of the Sao Paulo Football Championship and to perform a correlation analysis of the variables studied. Methods: A prospective study was conducted using an electronic questionnaire previously developed by the Medical Committee of the Sao Paulo Football Federation. The questionnaire was sent to the doctors of the teams playing in the A1 and A2 divisions of the Sao Paulo Football Championship after each round. Setting: 2016 Sao Paulo Football Championship. Results: The comparison of divisions A1 and A2 showed few significant differences among the various variables analysed in this study. The only significant differences were for right-side involvement in division A1 (p=0.044) and morning matches in division A2 (p<0.001). The correlation analysis of the variables studied showed expected associations, including sprains with a higher rate of need for surgery, ultrasound with muscle strains and moderate severity (8-28 days lost) with muscle strains. Conclusion: Despite the differences between the two divisions regarding budgets and team characteristics, there was a little difference in the variables analysed and there were associations such as sprains with a higher rate of need for surgery, ultrasound with muscle strains and moderate severity (8-28 days lost) with muscle strains.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosPosterior urethral injuries and the Mitrofanoff principle in children(Blackwell Publishing Ltd, 2003-03-01) Freitas Filho, Luiz Gonzaga de [UNIFESP]; Carnevale, J.; Melo, A. R.; Vicente, N. C. [UNIFESP]; Heinisch, A. C.; Martins, Jose Luiz [UNIFESP]; Hosp Infantil Darcy Vargas; Hosp Santa Marcelina; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)OBJECTIVETo report our experience of children with trauma causing posterior urethral injury who at some stage underwent a Mitrofanoff intervention, as post-traumatic urethral injuries can demand long-term treatment which (regardless of the surgical intervention) requires a period of dilatation of the reconstructed urethra.PATIENTS and METHODSFrom 1992 to 2001, 14 patients with urethral injuries underwent a Mitrofanoff procedure. Thirteen had been run over by a motor vehicle and had severe hip injuries, and one had a direct non-penetrating perineal impact lesion (13 boys and one girl, aged 2-13 years at the time of the accident). in all cases the Mitrofanoff procedure involved interposing the appendix between the bladder and the umbilicus. Only one of the children (because of extremely high bladder filling pressures) also underwent an augmentation cystoplasty and closure of the bladder neck because there were bony fragments in the urethra.RESULTSThe Mitrofanoff technique was considered useful in most cases. All patients during a given period used the Mitrofanoff conduit to empty their bladder every 3 h; 10 of the 14 are currently voiding urethrally, with an adequate flow, and four are not, but emptying the bladder periodically via the appendicovesicostomy. the only girl in the group has a major hip deformity and is unlikely to undergo urethroplasty; two patients are expecting definitive treatment and the other, although having a patent urethra, has no urinary flow. He is currently 19 years old and has no erections.CONCLUSIONSThe treatment of posterior urethral injuries represents a challenge to surgical teams. Although primary suturing of the separated urethral ends is accepted as the best treatment, the construction of a temporary continent urinary diversion may be considered in the most severe cases.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Renal tumor and trauma: a pitfall for conversative management(Sociedade Brasileira de Urologia, 2011-08-01) Abib, Simone de Campos Vieira [UNIFESP]; Leite, Mila Torii Corrêa [UNIFESP]; Ribeiro, Rodrigo Chaves [UNIFESP]; Fachin, Camila Girardi [UNIFESP]; Demuner, Maris Salete [UNIFESP]; Cypriano, Monica [UNIFESP]; Schettini, Sérgio Tomaz [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)PURPOSE: Conservative management has been largely used for renal trauma. Although this approach is safe and highly recommended, it can hide a pre-existing unknown condition, such as tumors or urinary malformations. A high index of suspicion is needed for early recognition of these conditions. We present four cases treated at the Pediatric Oncology Institute - Federal University of São Paulo, which have been initially treated conservatively for renal trauma. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We reviewed all 218 renal cases of renal tumors treated at our institution in a 22-year period, searching for associated trauma events. RESULTS: Four cases of renal tumors were initially treated conservatively for blunt renal trauma of low energy mechanism. Patients' ages ranged from 7 to 12 years old. Two patients had no previous symptoms, one patient had hematuria and another had an abdominal mass. Computerized Axial Tomography (CT) of the abdomen revealed disparate magnitude of the renal bleeding to the low energy mechanism of trauma. All patients underwent surgical treatment. Kidney specimens showed Wilms tumor in three cases and renal carcinoma in one. CONCLUSIONS: The association between renal tumors and trauma should be suspected when renal trauma hemorrhage on abdominal CT scan does not match the low energy mechanism of blunt abdominal trauma. The key for a successful diagnosis of renal tumor or congenital malformations is the high index of suspicion for these conditions.
