Resumo
O estudo e desenvolvimento de materiais luminescentes tem sido alvo na aplicação em sistemas ópticos nessa última década. Os íons de terras raras trivalentes (TR3+) utilizados em diferentes materiais são conhecidos por exibirem alta luminescência. O trabalho desenvolvido teve como motivação o desconhecimento de grande parte dos estudantes, e até mesmo da população geral, referente a propriedade luminescente de elementos terras raras e de seus derivados. A ilustração científica, por ser uma alternativa de transmitir ideias, conhecimentos e/ou informações de cunho científico, foi a ferramenta utilizada para a elaboração de um material expositivo informativo contemplando o tema de luminescência de compostos contendo íons de terras raras, a fim de promover a divulgação científica sobre o mesmo. A metodologia foi dividida em 3 partes: fundamentação teórica dos conceitos científicos, roteirização do plano ilustrativo e, por fim, a criação propriamente dita do material ilustrativo, utilizando para elaboração o software Adobe Illustrator © 2021. Ao final, produziu-se 2 folhetos com a temática de definição e contextualização das terras raras e a propriedade luminescente.
The study and development of luminescent materials has been the target of application in optical systems in the last decade. Trivalent rare earth ions (TR3+) used in different materials are known to exhibit high luminescence. The work developed was motivated by the lack of knowledge of most students, and even the general population, regarding the luminescent property of rare earth elements and their derivatives. Scientific illustration, as an alternative to transmit ideas, knowledge and/or information of a scientific nature, was the tool used for the elaboration of an informative expository material contemplating the theme of luminescence of compounds containing rare earth ions, in order to promote scientific dissemination about it. The methodology was divided into 3 parts: theoretical foundation of scientific concepts, scripting of the illustrative plan and, finally, the creation of the illustrative material itself, using the Adobe Illustrator © 2021 software for the elaboration. In the end, 2 leaflets were produced with the theme of definition and contextualization of rare earths and the luminescent property.
