Influência do lubrificante na superfície de perfis anodizados de alumínio

Este de trabalho de conclusão de curso (TCC) da graduação em Engenharia de Materiais na Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP) foi desenvolvido em parceria com a empresa PROLIND de São José dos Campos e a Associação Brasileira do Alumínio (ABAL) constituindo o projeto ELO. O objetivo principal deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência do lubrificante na superfície de perfis anodizados de alumínio durante a etapa de corte. O objeto de estudo desse trabalho foram perfis de alumínio liga 6060-T6 com tratamento superficial de anodização natural fosco com uma camada de 10-15 µm, sendo que a etapa de extrusão foi realizada na PROLIND e a etapa de anodização foi feita por uma empresa terceirizada, seguindo sempre os mesmos parâmetros. Os perfis são cortados, embalados e enviados para os EUA onde são utilizados como acabamento na lateral de elevadores. Foram registradas ocorrências de surgimento de manchas na superfície dos perfis, levando a empresa a suspender temporariamente o corte com uso de lubrificante. Sabendo que o emprego de lubrificante traz melhorias para a etapa de corte como redução da temperatura durante o corte e maior vida útil para a ferramenta, esse trabalho procurou avaliar a influência do uso de lubrificante na superfície desses perfis. Desta forma, foram cortados dois grupos de amostras, com e sem o uso do óleo lubrificante, posteriormente as amostras foram analisadas através das técnicas de MEV, DRX, tribologia no modo pino sobre placa e nanoindentação para avaliar a superfície do material. Adicionalmente, realizou-se um teste de imersão das amostras no lubrificante por 37 dias para avaliar o surgimento de manchas nas superfícies. Foram testadas amostras cortadas com lubrificante, amostras cortadas sem lubrificante e, em uma das amostras cortadas sem lubrificante, ainda foram realizados riscos profundos ao longo da superfície com o objetivo de eliminar a camada anodizada antes da imersão, para avaliar o contato do lubrificante com o substrato. Os resultados sugeriram que as amostras cortadas com óleo lubrificante apresentam maior dureza superficial e menor coeficiente de atrito. As análises de MEV, EDS e DRX não evidenciaram a formação de óxidos ou alterações superficiais nas amostras produzidas pela imersão ou corte com óleo lubrificante durante o período em que as amostras foram analisadas. A partir dos resultados e acompanhamento dos processos, foram propostas melhorias para as etapas de fabricação dos perfis visando minimizar o aparecimento de defeitos superficiais nas peças após a etapa de corte.
This Capstone Project of the graduation in Materials Engineering at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) was developed in partnership with the company PROLIND from São José dos Campos and the Brazilian Aluminum Association (ABAL) constituting the ELO Project. The main objective of this project was to evaluate the influence of the lubricant on the surface of anodized aluminum profiles during the cutting step. The material analyzed were aluminum alloy profiles 6060-T6 with a natural matte anodizing surface treatment with a layer of 10-15 µm made by a third-party company, always following the same parameters. The profiles follow to the cutting and packaging stage and then they were sent to the USA where they are used as finishing on the side of elevators. Occurrences of the appearance of stains on the surface of the profiles were recorded, leading the company to temporarily suspend the use of lubricant during the cut stage. Knowing that the use of lubricant brings improvements to the cutting stage, such as a reduction in temperature of the parts and a longer tool life, this work intends to evaluate the influence of the lubricant on the surface of these profiles. In this way, two groups of samples were cut, with and without the use of lubricating oil, later the samples were analyzed through the techniques of SEM, XRD, pin-on-plate tribometer and nanoindentation to evaluate the surface of the material. An immersion test of the samples in the lubricant oil was performed for 37 days to evaluate the appearance of stains on the surfaces. For this test was used samples cut off with lubricant, samples cut off without lubricant and one sample cut without lubricant in which deep scratches were carried out along the surface in order to eliminate the anodized layer before immersion, permitting to evaluate the contact of the lubricant with the substrate. The results suggested that samples cut with lubricant oil has higher surface hardness and lower coefficient of friction. The SEM, XRD and EDS analysis did not evidence the formation of oxides or surface changes in the samples produced by immersion or cutting with lubricant oil during the period in which the samples were analyzed. Based on the results and monitoring of the processes, improvements were proposed for the stages of manufacturing the profiles in order to minimize the appearance of surface defects in the parts after the cutting stage.
