O cuidar e o educar como práticas indissociáveis da função do professor das
infâncias se trata de um relato de experiência que tem como objetivo ilustrar uma discussão de como existem instituições de ensino que ainda delegam as práticas relacionadas ao cuidar a profissionais que ainda se encontram em processo formativo, como estagiários/as e assistentes de turma, conforme observados a partir da realização de um estágio extracurricular em uma instituição de ensino privada no município de Guarulhos. A partir dos conceitos teórico-práticos estudados no curso de pedagogia, como teorias de ensino, legislações educacionais, teorias de psicologia como Wallon, Piaget e funções do professor, apresentamos então uma análise qualitativa sobre a concepção de educação infantil; o trabalho pedagógico dos/as professores/as; o educar, o cuidar; as relações afetivas e as funções dos/as educadores/as. Como resultado, pudemos obter que o caminho para a obtenção dessas práticas em conjunto ainda é longa e de difícil obtenção
