A balanced diet and physical exercise are essential for establishing healthy habits. In search of being more physically active, the demand for the Crossfit modality has grown in recent years, with Brazil being the second country with the most Crossfit boxes in the world. It is known that well-defined nutritional strategies are extremely important for this modality, mainly because of the large amount of energy spent. Therefore, in order to facilitate the access of some nutrients and improve performance, the use of dietary supplements can be allies to the diet. However, the choice to consume dietary supplements is often not based on the recommendation of a qualified professional. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the pattern of use of dietary supplements, analyzing preferences, motivations and prescription for this consumption. To this end, Crossfit practitioners were recruited online, being men and women, aged 18 to 59, with training time of more than 6 months who responded to a form on Google Forms. The sample consisted of 367 participants, of which 83% consumed dietary supplements, with creatine and whey protein being the most reported. Among the main motivations are improved performance and improved muscle recovery, only 46.9% had a prescription nutritionist to consume supplements. It is concluded that the consumption of dietary supplements is high among Crossfit practitioners, where more than half consume them without nutritional guidance, which can be harmful to their health. Highlighting the importance of prescription by nutrition professionals.
