Horta aplicada à educação formal: construção para letramento científico e ambiental em local de alta vulnerabilidade social situado na zona leste do município de São Paulo

Resumo
As hortas são lembradas como áreas de contato com a natureza e a produção agrícola; levando-as para o ambiente escolar, mudamos a forma de interpretar o espaço, pois a desconstrução do ambiente formal e disciplinar pode transformar o que antes era engessado e mecânico, com sentido de obrigatoriedade, em participação ativa e entusiasmo. Nesse contexto, educandos letrados cientificamente podem desenvolver melhor suas dúvidas, além de diminuir a distância entre a disciplina e o social do aluno. Esta pesquisa foi realizada em uma instituição de ensino particular, situada em uma região do extremo leste do município de São Paulo, tendo como público-alvo alunos de ensino básico do período matutino e vespertino. A proposta da horta no meio formal de ensino está, também, na organização das tarefas para o andamento do projeto em conjunto com os educandos, possuindo como alicerce teórico a pedagogia histórico-crítica, com carácter de pesquisa-ação. Os critérios levantados para o manejo e construção da horta têm como base o conjunto de metodologias para a produção de vegetais sem uso de agrotóxicos, respeitando a biodiversidade nativa do local. Com base nos pontos ressaltados, os objetivos gerais do projeto é investigar a ação da horta escolar à partir de metodologias quanti-qualitativas acerca ao local de alta vulnerabilidade social, destacando a utilização desta como laboratório vivo multidisciplinar voltado para a compreensão das temáticas ambientais através de educação ambiental crítica e do levantamento de representação social dos alunos do ensino fundamental, sobre o meio ambiente. O levantamento dos dados é feito a partir de questionário com itens abertos e a análise - visando verificar as possíveis abstrações de conceitos ligados à área ambiental - pela ordem média de evocação de palavras chave, buscando um ponto de partida para o desenvolvimento de aulas em meio ao laboratório vivo.
Vegetable gardens are understood as areas of contact with nature and agricultural production; by placing them into the school environment, they change the way as we interpret the space, because the deconstruction of the formal and disciplinary environment can transform what used to be plain, with a sense of obligation, into active participation and enthusiasm. In this context, scientifically literate students can better develop their questions, besides reducing the distance between discipline and the student's social life. This research was carried out in a private educational institution, located in a region of the far east of the city of São Paulo, having as its target audience elementary school students from the morning and afternoon periods. The proposal of the garden in the formal educational environment is, also, in the organization of tasks for the progress of the project together with the students, having as its theoretical foundation the critical-historical pedagogy, with a research-action character. The criteria raised for the management and construction of the garden are based on the set of methodologies for the production of vegetables without the use of pesticides, respecting the native biodiversity of the place. Based on the points highlighted, the general objectives of the project is to investigate the action of the school garden from mixed methodologies about the local high social vulnerability, highlighting the use of this as a living multidisciplinary laboratory aimed at the understanding of environmental issues through critical environmental education and the survey of social representation of elementary school students about the environment. The data survey is done through a questionnaire with open items and the analysis - aiming to verify possible abstractions of concepts related to the environmental area - by the average order of evocation of keywords, seeking a starting point for the development of classes in the living laboratory.
